Mundo Osborn Magazine, based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Code of Conduct and Best Editorial Practices, and in accordance with the transparency principles established therein, hereby establishes the following Editorial Ethics Statement, taking into account the following aspects:

General Criteria

Conflict of Interest: A conflict of interest arises for members of the editorial committee and peer reviewers when they have any relationship with the contribution (its authors and funders) that could negatively influence their judgment. The editorial committee will resolve this situation in direct communication with both parties and will seek another peer reviewer.

Confidentiality: All individuals involved in the journal's editorial process are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of contributions submitted for publication and to not using the information, results, and data contained therein without the express authorization of the authors.

Communication with Authors: We ensure clear and consistent communication with authors who submit contributions for publication, keeping them updated on the status of their submission.

Editor Responsibilities

To act fairly, objectively, and without any discrimination (sexual, political, religious, ethnic) in applying the procedures described in this statement.

To base editorial decisions regarding submitted contributions on their academic merit and on the principles of importance, clarity, originality, and relevance, in accordance with the journal's editorial policy; therefore, the editor must be free of any conflict of interest.

To ensure due process (double-blind peer review) for contributions submitted for publication in the Osborn World Journal.

To contact authors when there is suspicion or evidence of inappropriate conduct that violates the journal's ethics.

To constantly review and update the journal's ethical and editorial guidelines to maintain and improve the publication's academic and editorial standards.

Responsibilities of the Editorial Team

Declare any conflict of interest that may exist regarding contributions received for review.

Ensure the confidentiality of contributions received for review, as well as the non-use of information or material contained therein without the author's express authorization.

Assign and ensure that the peer reviewers selected for the review process of contributions submitted for publication are the most suitable and competent to evaluate the topics addressed in the manuscripts.

Report to the editor any inappropriate conduct detected in contributions received for review.
Proceed with the corrections or retractions warranted in the specific case of a manuscript in which errors are found, in accordance with the established editorial policy.

Adhere to and follow the relevant procedures for resolving potential complaints or misunderstandings of an ethical nature or conflict of interest, acting in accordance with the editorial policy and normative principles of research ethics.

Authors' Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their submitted contribution and that it is free from any form of plagiarism, including extracts from other authors or fragments of published works without proper citation. They also attest to the veracity of the empirical data, meaning that it has not been altered to test hypotheses.
Every author submitting a contribution for publication agrees to inform readers about the existence of co-authors, to acknowledge any significant contributions received in the development of their work, to adequately demonstrate the use of sources, and to declare any funding received for their research.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the work has not been published or accepted by another journal or publication and is not under consideration for publication in any other journal or in any other language.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that they have organized themselves according to their level of contribution, responsibility, and roles. Similarly, it is the corresponding author's responsibility to verify that all authors approve the manuscript's content and that all individuals who made significant contributions to the work are listed as authors.
Acknowledge and cite the respective sources and academic credits if any of the content has been previously published. Also, acknowledge that the article does not infringe on any copyright or intellectual property rights; therefore, tables, figures, or patents requiring special permission for reproduction must be accompanied by a letter of permission from the copyright holder.
The presentation of articles must be objective; false or distorted statements are prohibited, as this constitutes unethical behavior. Articles must also include relevant information about funding sources and a conflict of interest declaration at the end of the manuscript.
Guarantee the rights to Revista Mundo Osborn for first publication.
Review the publishable version of your article (the editor's PDF version) to validate its content and verify the absence of significant errors before publication. In the event that a third party detects plagiarism, self-plagiarism, unethical conduct, or an error in a contribution published in the journal, it is the author's responsibility and obligation to issue a public retraction in the next print and digital issue of the journal. Furthermore, the contribution will be immediately removed from the journal's digital platform or corrected (see the correction and retraction policy).

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Ensure the confidentiality of contributions received for evaluation, as well as the non-use of information or material contained therein without the author's express authorization.
Ensure that reviewers possess competence and knowledge in the areas and topics relevant to the contributions they receive for evaluation. If they lack this competence, they are responsible for informing the journal editor after reading the abstract, before receiving the full article.
Report to the journal editor any inappropriate conduct they detect in contributions received for evaluation. Contribute to the article evaluation process by providing objective, unbiased, respectful, constructive, and timely feedback.
Declare any conflicts of interest that may exist regarding the contributions received for evaluation.
Inform authors of relevant references that they have not included in their work. Likewise, they must notify the editorial committee of any instances of double publication that have not been flagged by the journal or any instances of plagiarism.
Meet the established deadline for reviewing the work and ensure strict confidentiality regarding the information received from the editorial committee or the author, using it appropriately. However, the decision to accept or reject the manuscript during the evaluation process rests with the review committee.

Act in accordance with the principles of competence, confidentiality, impartiality, honesty, diligence, respect, and courtesy. They commit to conducting a critical, honest, constructive, and objective review of both the scientific and literary quality of the work.

Procedure to Follow in Case of Unethical Behavior

Editors must take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of works where unethical behavior or research misconduct has been found. Regarding the content of the article, unethical behavior includes the invention and manipulation of data and plagiarism, which constitute scientific fraud. Manipulation of citations and falsification of data also constitute unethical conduct, as does omitting the name of an author, among other things.

Initially, authors must report unethical behavior to the editor, who, along with the members of the journal's editorial committee, will be responsible for initiating an investigation. Reports of unethical behavior must be submitted in writing and accompanied by sufficient evidence to warrant an investigation.

Unethical behavior considered a minor offense by the editor may be resolved with the authors without the need to consult the editorial committee.

In cases where unethical behavior is deemed serious, the editor, in conjunction with the editorial committee, must:

Issue an official written communication to the authors and reviewers detailing the misconduct and taking into account the available evidence.

The editorial committee must decide whether to notify the authors' employers or institutional affiliations about the unethical behavior.

If allegations of misconduct are not supported by convincing evidence, the editors may seek expert advice.
Authors must be given the opportunity to respond to allegations of serious misconduct.
Authors must make corrections, modifications, or, if necessary, withdraw the article from the journal.

Similarly, Mundo Osborn Magazine is committed to responding promptly to complaints received via email at info@revista.mundoosborn.com. In any case, if those concerned do not achieve a satisfactory resolution to their complaints, they are considered to have the right to escalate their protests to other authorities.
